Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

We collect and use information as described in this Privacy Policy, including when You use Our Website and when You use the Bee – Saved Places iOS applications. The sections below describe the types of data involved and how they are used. Practices specific to Bee are set out first; Website-related practices follow.

Additional Information for Bee – Saved Places (iOS Application)

Bee – Saved Places is a mobile application developed by Green Shoot Enterprises Inc. (doing business as Aurigentic). This section describes practices specific to Bee – Saved Places and Bee – Saved Places Pro (together, “Bee”) and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy.

Summary

Bee is designed so that your saved places, lists, notes, and most content you add are stored on your device using Apple’s on-device storage. Aurigentic does not operate a login for Bee and does not host or sync your full saved-place database on our servers.

Information you enter or import (for example, place names, addresses, captions, screenshots, photos, or social media links you choose to share into Bee) may be personal information under applicable laws. Most of that information is processed and kept on your iPhone or iPad. Certain features described below temporarily send limited data to Aurigentic’s backend and to third-party Service Providers (including Apple, Google, Anthropic, and SocialKit) solely to provide those features, or when you export data yourself (for example, a backup file).

In the Apple App Store “App Privacy” summary, Apple uses its own definitions (including what it means for an app to “collect” data). That summary is intended to work together with this Policy.

Bee does not embed third-party advertising or analytics SDKs whose purpose is to track users across other companies’ apps and websites for ads, in the current version described here.

Location

With your permission, Bee uses Apple’s location services on your device to support features such as Nearby, proximity-related reminders, and the app icon badge, depending on your settings and what you allow in iOS (When In Use and, if you enable it, Always for background behavior where applicable).

Aurigentic does not operate a location server for Bee and does not receive a separate, continuous feed of your location for our own use. Location is used on the device and through Apple’s system APIs to power these features. Apple’s privacy policy applies to Apple’s processing.

Search, maps, and links you share

To help you find and save places, Bee may use Apple MapKit / on-device search for place search. Apple handles those requests under Apple’s terms and your settings.

When you share a general webpage link into Bee (for example from Safari or another app), Bee may fetch that webpage on your device to help extract place details. The operator of that website may receive technical information typical of an HTTP request.

Instagram and TikTok posts are handled differently. Those platforms do not reliably expose place details to a simple on-device webpage fetch, so Bee may use the smart place-extraction feature described below when you share such a post (or a related screenshot) into Bee.

Smart place extraction (Instagram, TikTok, and screenshots)

Bee can help identify a place’s name, address, and city from content you choose to share into the app—such as an Instagram or TikTok post/reel link, caption text, or a screenshot—using a temporary server-side analysis. Free accounts may receive a limited number of these smart imports; Bee – Saved Places Pro includes unlimited smart imports, subject to reasonable use and technical limits.

When you use this feature, Bee may send the shared link and/or limited related content (for example, caption text obtained through publicly available embedding APIs, or an image you attached for analysis) to an Aurigentic-operated backend service. That backend may:

  • Retrieve publicly available post metadata (such as a caption or thumbnail) needed to identify the place;
  • When the caption alone is insufficient, retrieve a temporary copy of the public video for the purpose of extracting a small number of still frames for analysis; and
  • Use a third-party artificial intelligence service to extract structured place details (and, where present in the content, one or two notable items such as dishes mentioned or shown) and return those results to your device.

For this feature, Aurigentic currently uses Service Providers including:

  • Anthropic — to analyze text and/or images and return structured place information; and
  • SocialKit — when needed, to obtain a temporary download URL for a public Instagram or TikTok video so Bee can extract frames for analysis.

This processing is performed to provide App Functionality (helping you save a place), not for advertising profiling by Aurigentic. Aurigentic does not use the content you submit through this feature to train its own AI models. We do not retain the submitted link, caption, image, or video frames in a Bee user profile or long-term content archive after the extraction result is returned to your device, except as needed for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, legal compliance, or short-lived operational logs (for example, request counts used to enforce usage limits). Third-party Service Providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies; Aurigentic does not control those providers’ systems.

You control whether to use this feature by choosing what to share into Bee. If you prefer not to send content to our backend or these Service Providers, you can save places using other methods in the app (for example, manual entry, on-device OCR from a screenshot without using the server-side fallback, or sharing a non-social webpage link).

Bee – Saved Places Pro and the Google Places API

Bee – Saved Places Pro includes features that use the Google Places API to retrieve public business information (for example, whether a business may appear open, temporarily closed, or permanently closed) when that information is available.

When you use those features, Google receives information needed to perform the lookup. That may include:

  • Business or place names and related search queries
  • Where the feature uses location to refine results, approximate location (such as coordinates associated with a saved place) as part of the API request

Google processes that information under Google’s Maps Platform Terms and Google’s privacy policy. Aurigentic does not control Google’s servers and does not receive a copy of those requests into a separate Aurigentic database for the purposes described in this section.

These Pro features are used only in connection with saving and managing places in the app (for example, when you use flows that check business status with Google), not for advertising profiling by Aurigentic.

Purchases (Bee – Saved Places Pro)

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Apple collects the information it needs to complete purchases according to Apple’s terms. The app reads subscription status on your device so Pro features can unlock.

Photos, screenshots, and imports

If you add photos, screenshots, or shared content, those items are primarily processed on your device to support features such as saving a place or reading text from an image locally where applicable.

If on-device processing is not enough to identify a place and you have shared a screenshot (for example, of a social media caption) without a usable post URL, Bee may—when smart place extraction is available under your free-use allowance or Bee Pro subscription—send that image (and any text already recognized on the device) to Aurigentic’s backend for the analysis described in “Smart place extraction” above. Aurigentic does not upload your entire photo library to our servers; only content you choose to share into Bee for a specific import may be sent.

Children’s privacy

Bee is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in a way that is inconsistent with applicable law.

Changes to Bee

We may update Bee over time. If we introduce material new data practices (for example, optional account sync or new third-party services), we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, provide notice or obtain consent in accordance with applicable law and Apple App Store requirements.

This Bee–specific section supplements the broader Aurigentic Privacy Policy and applies only to the Bee – Saved Places and Bee – Saved Places Pro iOS applications.
